HomeMy WebLinkAboutA001 - cover letter MEMO TO: Honorable Mayor , City Council, City Clerk, City Plan Director, City Manager r'ROM: Jerry L. Jones City Attorney SUBJECT: Mobile Home Ordinance DATE: April 12, 1968 I am enclosing the mobile home ordinance as amended at the regular meeting of the Council on April 2 , 1968 . You will recall that several recommenda- tions for amendment to the ordinance as submitted at that time were made by Bob Crane. The Council allowed the amendments he suggested to Section 23-1019, paragraphs (a) , (b) , (1) , and (n) . Paragraph (b) merely involved the deletion of a possibly superfluous provision pertaining to proper drainage grades . Paragraphs (1) and (m) were somewhat more matarial and have been revised as directed by the Council pursuant to Mr. Crane 's request. The Council also agreed to amend paragraph (a) to eliminate the distinction between travel trailer parks , mixed mobile home and travel trailer parks , and mobile home par" s . The basis of Mr . Crane 's request that this distinction be eliminated was in order that the proprietor of a mobile home park could have a travel trailer park in a mobile home space, if he had one available. There was no prohibition in the ordinance as to this type of arrangement, but it seemed somewhat harmless at the time to eliminate these distinctions . Upon review however, we feel that if and when travel trailer parks are erected in the City, it is advisable that we have ready an ordinance pertaining to their regulation. For the reason that to leave paragraph (a) intact would not affect the particular problem that Mr. Crane submitted, and for the further reason that to delete it would create considerable confussion and would require a over-all amendment of the entire ordinance, we have taken the liberty to preserve it as it was originally submitted. If there are any questions with regard to the amendments or the preser- vation of paragraph (a) as originally drawn, please advise. JLJ :cwb
