HomeMy WebLinkAboutA002 - public notice PUBLIC NOTICE TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, proposes to amend Sections 38-1002, 38-1044, and 38-1045 of Chapter 38, Zoning, of the Municipal Code, City of Ames, Iowa, as follows : "Sec. 38-1002. Definitions and rules of construction. For the purpose of interpreting this chapter, certain terms, words and expressions are herein defined. Words used in the present tense include the future; the singular number includes the plural, the plural includes the singular; the word shall is always mandatory. 11* " (31) Family: An individual, or two or more persons related to one another by blood, marriage, or legal adoption, including foster children and not more than one roomer; or, in the alternative, not more than three unrelated persons; provided that when the alternative definition is applied to any district zoned "R-2" or "R-1", not more than three unrelated persons shall occupy any building. " "Sec. 38-1044. Off-street parking required. In all dis- tricts there shall be provided at the time any building is erected or structurally altered (except as otherwise provided in this chapter) , off-street parking spaces in accordance with the following requirements : " (a) Dwellings : One and two-family dwellings, two parking spaces for each dwelling unit; multiple dwellings, one and one-half (lz) parking spaces for each dwelling unit. " "Sec. 38-1045. Rules for computing off-s_treet parking. In computing the number of off-street parking spaces required, the following rules govern: 11* " (g) The size of a parking space for one vehicle shall consist of a rectangular area having dimensions of not less than nine (9) by nineteen (19) feet plus adequate area for ingress and egress. " YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that a proposed ordinance in- corporating such changes is now on file with the City Clerk, Ames, Iowa, and that hearing on the adoption of said ordinance will be held before the City Council, in the Council Chambers, of the City Hall, Ames, Iowa, at 7 :30 P.M. , CST, on the 19th day of March, 1968.
