HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Vacating Certain Streets and Alleys ORDINANCE NO. 2183 AN ORDINANCE VACATING CERTAIN STREETS, ALLEYS AND RIGHT-OF-WAY IN THE ORIGINAL TOWN OF NEW PHILADELPHIA, SECTION 6, TOWNSHIP 83 NORTH, RANGE 24 WEST (NOW AMES, IOWA) AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE QUIT-CLAIM DEEDS TO THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS. IT IS ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA: Section 1. The following streets and alleys are vacated: The West 20 feet of State Street (now North Dakota Avenue) in Original Town New Philadelphia Section 6, Township 83 North, Range 24 West from the Centerline of North Street South to the South line of South Street. The South half of North Street from the East line of Delaware Avenue East to the East line Block 2 said Addition. Court Street from the East line Delaware Avenue East to the East line Block 2 said Addition. Washington Street from the East line Delaware Avenue East to the East line Block 7 said Addition. Jefferson Street from the East line Delaware Avenue East to the Fast line Block 7 said Addition. South Street from the East line Delaware Avenue East to the East line Block 10 said Addition. The public right-of-way lying South of Lot 6 in NE1/4 SE1/4 Section 6, Township 83 North, Range 24 West from the East line of Delaware Avenue East to the East line of Block 10 extended. The alleys in Blocks 2, 7 and 10 of Original Town New Philadelphia. Also the West 6 feet of Delaware Avenue (formerly known as Main Street) from the North line Block F, Foster ' s Addition to New Philadelphia in Section 6, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. Story County, Iowa, to the South line of Block B of said Addition. Section 2. The Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa, quit-claim deeds to the abutting property owners, one-half on each side, and the City Clerk is authorized and directed -2- i to make certified copies of this ordinance and attach them to the deeds. Section 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are repealed. Section 4. This ordinance is in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication according to 1 aw. Passed this 25th day of April 1967 . Louise Whitcome, City Clerk D.
