HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Chapter 25 of Municipal Code; Limiting Parking «,or ORDINANCE NO. 2169 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTIONS 25-114. 1x 25-114FZ 25-114F. 1, 25-114F.2,z 25-114F.3x AND 25-114F.4, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, AS HITHERTO EXISTING AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES ESTABLISHING A MAXIMUM PARKING TIME LIMIT OF TWELVE MINUTES AT ANY PLACE OR PLACES ON MAIN STREET, AMES, IOWA, BETWEEN CLARK AVENUE AND DUFF AVENUE; BY REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES ESTAB- LISHING A MAXIMUM PARKING TIME LIMIT OF THIRTY MINUTES AT ANY PLACE OR PLACES ON MAIN STREET, AMES, IOWA, BETWEEN CLARK AVENUE AND DUFF AVENUE; BY REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES ESTABLISHING A MAXIMUM PARKING TIME LIMIT OF SIXTY MINUTES AT ANY PLACE OR PLACES ON MAIN STREET, AMES, IOWA, BE- TWEEN CLARK AVENUE AND DUFF AVENUE; BY REPEALING ANY AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES WHATSOEVER IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND BY ADDING A NEW SECTION AND SUBSECTIONS TO BE NUMBERED 25-114Fx 25-114F. lx 25--114F.2, 25-114F.3, 25-114F.4, AND 25-114F.5, WHICH ESTABLISH A MAXIMUM PARKING TIME OF TWO HOURS AT TEN CENTS PER HOUR AND ESTABLISHING THE ZONES AND LOCATIONS WHERE SUCH MAXIMUM PARKING TIME IS IN FORCE. IT IS ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA: Section 1. Sections 25-114.1x 25-114F, 25-114F.1x 25-114F.2, 25-114F.3, and 25-114F.4, as hitherto existing, and all other ordinances and parts of ordinances establishing a maximum parking time limit of twelve minutes at any place or places on Main Street., Ames,, Iowa, between Clark Avenue and Duff Avenue; and all other ordinances and parts of ordinances establishing a maximum parking time limit of thirty minutes at any place or places on Main Street,, Ames, Iowa, between Clark Avenue and Duff Avenue; and all other ordinances and parts of ordinances establishing a maximum parking time limit of sixty minutes at any place or places on Main Street, Ames, Iowa,, be- tween Clark Avenue and Duff Avenue, are repealed. Section 2. New sections, to be numbered 25-114Fx 25-114F. 1� 25-114F. 2,x 25-114F.3, 25-114F.4,. and 25-114F.5r are added to Chapter 25 of the Municipal Code and are as follows : "25-114F. Maximum Parking Time Limit. Two hours at ten (10) cents per hour. . In the parking meter zones which have a maximum parking time limit of two (2) hours at ten (iO) cents an hour;,; the stands supporting these parking meters shall be painted aluminum. Upon the deposit of the coins herein- after enumerated, parking time is established up to the following time limits : (a) Upon the deposit of one (1) five-cent (5�) coin, a parking time limit of one-half hour is established. t • �2- (b) Upon the deposit of two (2) five-cent (5�) coins or one (1) ten-cent (10�) coin, a parking time limit of one hour is established. The following zones have a maximum parking time limit of two (2) hours at ten (10) cents per hour: 25-114F. 1. Both sides of Fifth Street from the West Line of Duff Avenue to the East Line of Clark Avenue 25-114F. 2. Both sides of Douglas Avenue from the North Line of Main Street to the South Line of Sixth Street. 25-114F. 3. Both sides of Kellogg Avenue from the North Line of Gilchrist Street to the South Line of Sixth Street. 25-114F.4. Both sides of Burnett Avenue from the South Line of the alley between Main Street and the Chicago & Northwestern Railway Company's right-of-way to the South Line of Sixth Street. 25-114F. 5. Both sides of Main Street from the West Line of Duff Avenue to the East Line of Clark Avenue. " Section 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed. Section 4.
