Holst, City Solicitor QUESTION: Does the present Section 25-1. 19 of the Ames ' Municipal Code conflict with the provisions of Chapter 140 of the Laws of the Sixty-first- General. Asse.mbly? CONCLUSION: Yes. DATE: May 12, 1966. M&WIS Section 25-1.19 of the Ames Municipal Code is as follows : 11,;�njenevex certain hours axe named herein they shall mean central standard time. " Chapter 140, Sixty-first GeneralY Assembl, , Section 1, p. 220, provides that the standard time of the State of Iowa is central standard time, except from Memiorlial Day to Labor Day, dhen it shall be "daylight savings time. " Section 2, thereof, provides in part as follows : "In all laws, statutes, relatins to the time of Performance of anv act, relating to the time within which any act shall or shall not be performed by, aDy- 2erson subject to the Jurisdiction -2- of this state or of any city the tiM shall be the time establisbed in Sec- t ion one U) of _th.is Act, " Section 25-1. 19 should be amended to read: Whenever certain hours are named herein thev shall mean th.e standard time established in the Sixty-first General Assembly Chapter 140, Section one (1) .
