HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Chapter 61 of Municipal Code, Providing for Dancing at a Beer Business Y ORDINANCE NO. 2130 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 61 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OFT E CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTION 61-12 THEREOF; AND PROVIDING FOR DANCING IN CONNECTION WITH THE OPERATION OF A y BEER BUSINESS UNDER A CLASS "B" BEER LICENSE AND THE REGULA- TIONS THEREFORE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA: Section 1. That Section 61-12 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames Iowa, be and the same is hereby repealed; and, the following be and the same is hereby enacted in lieu thereof to be known as Section 61-12 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa: 61. 12. Dancing. Dancing shall be permitted in connection with the operation of a beer business under a class "B" license provided the floor space used for dancing purposes lierein contain at least two hundred square feet all of which shall be of the same general floor level as the place where the beer is dispensed; said space used for dancing shall be in the same room as, or in a room adjacent to and opening directly from the place where beer is dispensed and within a full view at all times of the major portion thereof from the place where the beer is dispensed. Said floor space shall not be obstructed or crossed in any part or portion by partitions or other obstructions of any kind, except necessary structural posts, pillars or similar sup- ports , provided that at least two hundred square feet of said dancing area shall be free of obstruction of any kind. Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall upon conviction, be subject to imprisonment not exceeding thirty days or to a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 4.
