HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Traffic - Speed Limit on Grand Avenue ORDINANCE NO. 2126 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 ON TRAFFIC OF THE MUNICI- PAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY PROVIDING SPEED RES- TRICTIONS ON GRAND AVENUE FROM LINCOLN WAY TO A POINT 350 FEET NORTH OF TOP-0-HOLLOW ROAD. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA: Section 1. That Chapter 25 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ame Iowa, be and the same is hereby amended by repealing Section 25-29. 8 there- of; and the following be and the same is hereby enacted in lieu thereof to be known as Section 25-29. 8 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa: 25-29. 8 Speed Restrictions. Grand Avenue. A speed in excess of thirty miles per hour on Grand Avenue from Lincoln Way to a poin one hundred feet North of Thirteenth Street shall be unlawful; a speed in excess of thirty-five miles per hour on Grand Avenue from point one hundred feet North of Thirteenth Street icy a point five hund- red feet North of Twenty Eighth Street shall be unlawful;and, a speed in excess of fifty-five miles per hour on Grand Avenue from a point five hundred feet North of Twenty Eighth Street to a po int three hund- red fifty feet North of Top-o-Hollow Road shall be unlawful. Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall upon conviction, be subject to imprisonment not exceeding thirty days or to a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law. Passed this 15th day of February 1966. UISE WHITCOME, City Clerk R.
