HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Chapter 61 of Municipal Code, Prohibiting Possession of Beer by Minors • 4 ORDINANCE NO. 2095 An ordinance amending Chapter 61 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa; Prohibiting the Possession of Beer By Minors; and Providing Penalties for the Violation Thereof. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa: Section 1. That Chapter 61 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto the follow- ing section to be known as Section 61-35. 1 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa: 61-35. 1 Possession by Minors. It shall be unlawfulfor any person or persons under the age of twenty-one years individually or jointly to have in his or their possession or control beer or liquor. The provisions of this section shall not apply to any person under the ag of twenty-one years who: (a) Is provided liquor as permitted in Section 123. 43, Code of Iowa, 1962, (b) Is a regular employee of a Class "A" "B" or "Cff permit holder as defined in Chapter 124 of the Code of Iowa while performing regular duties during the course of employment. Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this or- dinance shall upon conviction be subject to a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars, or by imprisonment not exceeding thirty days. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordiance are hereby repealed. Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law. Passed this 21st day of September 1965.
