HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Chapter 76 of Municipal Code, Providing for Regulations in Parks ORDINANCE NO. 2091 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 76 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTION 76-56 THEREOF; AND PROVIDING FOR RULES AND REGULATIONS IN CITY PARKS, AND PROVIDING THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA: Section 1. That Section 76-56 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, be and the same is hereby repealed, and the following be and the same is hereby enacted in lieu thereof to be known as Section 76-56 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa: 76-56. It shall be unlawful for any person to willfully cut, break, damage, destroy or interfere with any tree, shrub, flower, bush or any other planting or building, structure or other facility in any public park of the city; or to operate a motor vehicle as defined in the laws of the State of Iowa in any public park of the city, except upon the streets therein and parking areas specifically designed for motor vehicle travel, and except as may be specifically authorized by the Park Com- mission; or to violate any rule or regulation of the park com- mission after the same has been posted in any public park. Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined not exceeding One Hundred Dollars, or be imprisoned not exceeding thirty (30) days. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law. Passed this 3 day of August , 1965. M. W. J RDA City Clerk PEARLE P.
