HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Chapter 25 of Municipal Code, Pertaining to Parking Meters •M ORDINANCE NO. 2080 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES,, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTIONS 25-118, 25-119 and 25-120 THEREOF; AND PROVIDING FOR THE CITY MANAGER TO HAVE THE DIRECT SUPERVISION OF THE INSTALLATION, OPERATION„ REPAIR AND MAIN- TENANCE OF PARKING METERS AND PARKING METER ZONES; PROVIDING THAT THE CHIEF OF POLICE SHALL HAVE THE DIRECTION AND SUPER- VISION OF THE POLICING OF SAID PARKING METERS AND PARKING METER ZONES; AND PROVIDING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE SHALL MAKE COLLECTIONS OF MONEY DEPOSITED IN PARKING METERS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA: Section 1. That Sections 25-118, 25-119, and 25-120 of Chapter 25 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, be and the same are hereby repealed, and the following be and the same are hereby enacted in lieu thereof to be known as sections 25-118, 25-119, and 25-120, respectively, of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa: 25-118 SUPERVISION. The City Manager or his authorized represen- tatives shall have direct supervision of the installation, operation, repair and maintenance of said parking meters and parking meter zones. 25-119 POLICING. The Chief of Police of the city shall have the direct supervision of the policing of said parking meters and parking meter zones. 25-120. COLLECTION OF MONEYS. The Director of Finance or his duly authorized representative shall have the power and authority to make regular collections of the moneys deposited in said parking meters and the Director of Finance shall deliver the same to the City Treasurer of the city. Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law. Passed this 20th day of July , 1965. M. W. JORD , City Clerk PEARLE P.
