HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Chapter 55 of Municipal Code, Prohibiting Bonfires and Grass Fires c ORDINANCE NO. 2056 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 55 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA. BY AMENDING SECTION 55-13 THEREOF; PROHIBITING BONFIRES AND GRASS FIRES ENDANGERING ADJACENT BUILDINGS OR PROPERTY; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA: Section 1. That Section 55-13 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, be and the same is hereby repealed and the following be and the same is hereby enacted in lieu thereof to be known as Section 55-13 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa: 55-13 Unlawful Bonfires and Grass Fires. No person shall kindle or maintain any bonfire or grass fire, or authorize such fires to be kindled or maintained within the City under conditions endangering buildings or property adjacent to such fire. Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined not exceeding one hundred dollars, or imprisoned not exceeding thirty days. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law. Passed this lst day of December , 1964. M. W. Jord , City Clerk Pearle P.
