HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Chapter 61 of Municipal Code, Pertaining to Class B Beer Permits ORDINANCE NO. 2049 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 61 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTION 61-7 THEREOF; AND PRO- VIDING THE BOUNDARIES FOR THE LOCATION OF PREMISES OF CLASS "B" BEER PERMITTEES (INDIVIDUAL) Be It Ordained By The City Countil of The City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. That Section 61-7 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, be and the same is hereby repealed and the following be and the same is hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as Section 61-7 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa: ,. a 61-7 Location of Premises of Class "B" Permittees (Individual). The places of business of all Class "B" Permittees (Individual) shall be located within the boundaries of the following described area or district, W to-wit: Beginning at a point 200 feet east of the center line of Duff Avenue and Sixth Street, thence west on the center line of Sixth Street to the center line of Douglas Avenue, thence south along the center line of Douglas Avenue 213 feet, thence west to the centerline of the alley between Kellogg Avenue and Burnett Avenue, thence south along the centerline of said alley and said alley extended to the centerline of the alley between Main Street and Fifth Street, thence west along the center line of said alley and of said alley extended to the center line of Clark Street, thence south along the center line of Clark Street and Clark Street extended to a point 200 feet south of the center line of Lin- coln Way, thence east along a line 200 feet south of the center line of said Lincoln Way and parallel thereto to a point 200 feet west of the centerline of Duff Avenue, thence south along a line 200 feet west of the centerline of South Duff Avenue and parallel thereto to the south corporate limits, thence east to the centerline of Section 14, Township 83 north, Range 24 West of the 5th P. M., thence north along said centerline to a point 297 feet south of the northwest corner of the South Half of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 14, thence east 440 Xeet, thence north 297 feet, thence west 240 feet, thence north along a line 200 feet east of the centerline of Duff Avenue and parallel thereto to a point 150 feet south of the centerline of Lincoln Way, thence east along a line 150 feet south of the centerline of Lincoln Way andparallel thereto to the east Section line of Section I1, Township 83 North, Range 24 west of the 5th P. M., thence north along the east sectionline of Section 11 and Section 2 of said Township and Range to a point 150 feet north of the centerline of Lincoln Way, thencetwest along a line 150 feet north of and parallel to the centerline of Lincoln Way to a point 200 feet east of the centerline of Duff Avenue, thence north along a line 200 feet east from the centerline of Duff Avenue and parallel thereto to the point of beginning, and excepting therefrom such por- tions not located within a business district , and excepting therefrom any premises within 175 feet of any school pro- perty used for such purpose or any church building used for 2. congregation purposes. In determining the distance above, measurement shall be taken in a direct line from the main entrance of the premises upon which the place of business of an applicant for a Class "B" permit is located, to the nearest property line of the school, or the nearest entrance of the church building, as the case may be. Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3.
