HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Chapter 42 of Municipal Code (Zoning) ORDINANCE NO. 2043 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 42 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SUBSECTION (K) OF SECTION 42-8 THEREOF; AND PROVIDING FOR CHILDREN'S HOMES, RETIREMENT HOMES, OR SIMILAR INSTITUTIONS IN "A" DISTRICTS (RESIDENCE).- Be It Ordained By The City Council of The City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. That subsection (k) of Section 42-8 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, be and the same is hereby repealed, and the following be and the same is hereby enacted in lieu thereof to be known as subsection (K) of Section 42-8 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa: 42-8(K) Childrenfs homes, retirement homes, or similar institutions, not operated for pecuniary profit, provided; however, such homes are located on a tract of land of not less than two (2) acres devoted exclusively to such use, and the requirements of Section 42-5. 3, 5.4, 5. 5, 5. 7, 5. 8, and 5. 9 shall not apply, but in no event shall the provisions as to side yard, rear yard, or front yard depths as pre- scribed by this ordinance for a church, school, library, museum or similar institution be waived. Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Passed this 4th day of August 1964. Q � xjlev Z. M. W. Jordj City Clerk Pearle P.
