ORDINANCE NO. 2040
AN ORDINANCE PMENDING CHAPTER 4b OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE
CITY OF AMES, IOWA BY REPEALING SECTION 4b-11 THEREOF; AND
PROHIBITING PERMANENT ADDITIONS OR ATTACHMENTS, EXCEPT
AWNINGS, ON MOBILE HOMES, AND REQUIRING PERMITS AND PERMIT
FEES FOR SUCH AWNINGS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
Section 1. That Section 45-11 of the Municipal Code of the
City of Ames, Iowa be and the same is hereby repealed and the following
be and the same is hereby enacted in lieu thereof to be known as Section
45-11 and 45-11. 1 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa:
45-11. Permanent Additions or Attachments. No permanent
additions or attachments shall be built onto or become a part
of any mobile home, except metal or fireproof window or
doorway awnings or open air awnings over patio areas in
mobile home parks. No mobile home, other than one
located in a mobile home park, shall be attached to the
ground by means of posts, piers or foundations.
45-11. 1 . Permit and Fee. No such window or doorway
awning or open air awning over patio areas shall be added
or attached to mobile homes in mobile home parks until a
permit is issued therefor by the building official of the
City of Ames, upon application therefor on forms to be
furnished by said building official, and the payment of
one dollar ($1. 00) permit fee.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with
the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as provided by law.

passage of ordinances be suspended the third reading be omitted alld
Ordinance No. 2040 be placed for final passage.
