AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF
THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA BY REPEALING SUBSECTION (22) OF SECTION
25-105. 17 THEREOF: AND DESIGNATING WHERE PARKING IS PROHIBITED
ON SOUTH HAZEL AVENUE; AND, DESIGNATING THE INTERSECTION OF
SIXTEENTH STREET AND MAXWELL AVENUE AS A SPECIAL STOP
INTERSECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES,
IOWA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That subsection (22) of Section 25-105. 17 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, be and the same is hereby repealed, and
the following be and same is hereby enacted in lieu thereof to be known as
Section 25-105. 17 (22) of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa:
25-105. 17 ,Parking is hereby prohibited at all times, except as
may be otherwise provided in the subparagraphs following, on the
streets in the City of Ames, Iowa, ollows:
(22) South Hazel Avenue on the West side from Lincoln Way
to South Fourth Street; and on the East side in front of the entrance
to Whittier School for a distance of forty (40) feet, and for a distance
of Sixty (60) feet North of the intersection with South Second Street.
Section 2. That Chapter 25 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames,
Iowa be and the same is hereby amended by adding the following Section
thereto to be known as Section 25-41. 16 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Ames, Iowa:
25-41, 16. The intersection of Sixteenth Street and Maxwell
Avenue is hereby designated as a special stop intersection
from May 15th to September .1 5 th, inclusive, of each year.
Traffic approaching this intersection from all directions shall
stop before entering the intersection.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as provided by law.

adopted on its secondereading.

Mayor DeHart declared Ordinance No. 2036 passed on its second
reading.
Moved by Pasley and seconded by Eschbach the rules governing the
passage of ordinances be suspended the third reading be omitted
and Ordinance No. 2036 be placed for final passage.
