ORDINANCE NO. 2027
AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF THE NORTH AND SOUTH
ALLEY IN BLOCK 4, IUNGSBURY'S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF AMES,IOW
r� Be It Ordained By The City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:

Section 1. That a portion of the North and South alley in Block 4,
Kingsbury's Addition to the City of Ames, Iowa, more particularily described
as follows:
That portion of the North and South alley between the
South 46 feet of Lots 5 and 6, Block 4, IKingsbury's
Addition to the City of Ames, Iowa,
be and the same is hereby vacated as a public alley.
Section 2. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
and directed to execute in behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa a quit claim deed
to said parcel of land to I. E. Melhus, the abutting property owner, said deed
subject, however, to a reservation of an easement and right-of-way over,
across and under the above described property for the construction, recon-
struction, alteration, operation, majntenance and repair of any electrical
poles, lines, cables, telephone lines, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, or
water lines, and subject to the further provision that no permanent structures
shall be erected under the electrical high lines situated on said property.
Section 3. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
make a certified copy of this ordinance and attach the same to said deed.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as provided by law.

passed on its second reading.

Moved by Eschbach and seconded by Bledsoe the rules governing the
passage of ordinances be suspended, the third reading be omitted an
Ordinance No. 2027 be placed for final passage.

City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, at a regular meeting
thereof on the 21st day of April, 1964, and that the above
