ORDINANCE NO. 2012-
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 61 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF
THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTIONS 61-2 AND 61-10
THEREOF; AND PROVIDING FOR BEER PERMITS, THE DISPLAY THEREOF
AND HOURS FOR THE SALE, DELIVERY OR CONSUMPTION OF BEER ON
CLASS "B" PERMITEES, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATIO
THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Sections 61-2 and 61-10 of the Municipal Code of
the City of Ames, Iowa be and the same are hereby repealed, and the follow-
ing be and the same are hereby enacted in lieu thereof to be known as
Sections 61-2 and 61-10, respectively, of the Municipal Code of the City of
Ames, Iowa:
61-2. Permit Required and Displayed. It shall be
unlawful to manufacture for sale or sell beer unless a permit
is first obtained from the City Council of the City of Ames,
as provided by this chapter and the laws of the State of Iowa.
All permits issued hereunder shall, at all times, be publicly
displayed on the premises of the permit holder, so as to be
easily seen by the public and the persons authorized to
inspect the same.
61-10. Hours: Class "B". It shall be unlawful to
sell, deliver or consume beer on the premises of a Class
"B" permit holder during the following hours:
(a) All day Sunday.
(b) Between one o'clock A. M. and seven o'clock
A. M. on Saturday.
(c) Between twelve o'clock midnight and seven
o'clock A. M. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
Thursday and Friday, except that whenever the
first day of the year falls on Tuesday, Wednesday,
Thursday or Friday then the prohibitted hours on
said first day of the year shall be between one
o'clock A. M. and seven o'clock A. M.
Section 2. Anyone violating any of the provisions of this chapter
shall, upon conviction, be subject to imprisonment not exceeding thirty (30)
days, or to a fine not exceeding On e Hundred ($100. 00) Dollars.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with
the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and publication as provided by law.

be omitted and Ordinance No. 2012 be placed for final passage.

Mayor DeHart declared Ordinance No. 2012 duly adopted.

certify that Ordinance No. 2012 was duly and properly passed by
the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, at its meeting on the
17th day of December, 1963, and published in the Ames Daily Tri-
bune on the 21st day of December, 1963.
