ORDINANCE NO. 1097
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 42-3(b) and 42-4 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 937 OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY ZONING RECENTLY ANNEXED
LAND AS "A" DISTRICT (RESIDENCE)
Be It Ordained By The City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
Section 1. That Sections 42-3(b) and 42-4 of Ordinance No. 937 of
the City of Ames, Iowa, and the official zoning map therein referred to,
are Hereby amended to include land recently annexed in "A" District (Residence ,
said land being described as follows:
Beginning at a point which is 225 feet west of the Southeast
corner of the West Half of the Southwest Quarter of Section
36, Township 84 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P. M. ,
Iowa; starting at this point of beginning, thence North
parallel to the east line of the West Half of the Southwest
Quarter of said Section 36 977 feet to a point in thedSkunk
River, thence N 170 49' W. 223. 3 feet, thence N 36 06'
E. 505. 1 feet to a point on the east line of the East Half
of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 36 which is 255. 4
feet North of the center of the Southwest Quarter of said
Section 36, thence northerly along the east line of the
Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Section
36 a distance of 88. 6 feet, thence westerly along a line
parallel to and 344 feet northerly from the south line of
the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said
Section 36 a distance of 1323. 5 feet to a point on the west
line of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of
said Section 36, thence southerly along the west line of
said Section 36 to the southwest corner of said Section 36,
thence easterly 1096. 1 feet to the point of beginning, except
the south 68 feet thereof.
Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with
the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as provided by law.

passage of ordinances be suspended, the second and third readings
be omitted and Ordinance No. 1097 be placed on its final passage.
