ORDINANCE NO, 1096
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE MUN[CI PAL CODE OF
THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTIONS 21-24. 10 AND 21-
26. 5 THEREOF; AND PROVIDING CITIZENSHIP AND RESIDENCE REQUIRE-
MENTS FOR CIVIL SERVICE EMPLOYEES IN THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA.
Be It Ordained By The City Council of The City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
Section 1. That Sections 21-24. 10 and 21-26. 5 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, be and the same are hereby repealed, and the
following be and the same is hereby enacted to be known as Section 21-24. 10
of the Murkipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa:
21-24. 10. Citizenship and Residence. The applicant
shall be a citizen of the United States and shall have been a
resident of the State of Iowa for at least one year last passed.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as provided by law.

Moved by Judge and seconded by Brouhard Ordinance No. 1096 be passed
on its first reading.

Moved by Judge and seconded by Bledsoe the rules governing the
passage of ordinances be suspended, the second and third readings
be omitted and Ordinance No. 1096 be placed for final passage.

pass.

Mayor DeHart declared Resolution No. 1096 duly adopted.
I, M. W. Jordan, City Clerk of the City of Ames, Iowa, do hereby
certify that Ordinance No. 1096 was duly and properly passed by
the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, at its meeting on the
lst day of October, 1963 and published in the Ames Daily Tribune
on the 9th day of October, 1963.
