AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF
THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTIONS 25-111. 1 AND
25-112 THEREOF; AND PROVIDING FOR PARKING METER DISTRICTS,
PARKING METER ZONES, AND 12 MINUTE PARKING METERS ON STANTON
AVENUE DURING ALL HOURS.
Be It Ordained By The City Council of The City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
Section 1. That Sections 25-111. 1 and 25-112 of the Municipal Code
of the City of Ames, Iowa, be and the same are hereby repealed, and the
following be and the same are hereby enacted to be known as Sections
2 5-111. 1, 2 5-112 and 2 5-113. 9 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames,
Iowa:
25-111. 1 Parking Meter Districts. Two parking meter
districts are hereby established as follows: District No. 1
being the parking meters in the First and Second Wards and
Precinct No. 1 of the Third Ward. District No. 2 being the
parking meters in Precincts No. 2 and No. 3 of the Third
Ward and all of the Fourth Ward.
25-112 Parking Meter Zones. There are hereby established
certain zones, to be known as parking meter zones. The
parking meters erected in said parking meter zones shall
determine the maximum parking time limits as set out in
Sections 25-113 and 25-114 of this Chapter.
In Parking Meter District No. 1 such time limits shall
be effective on all days, except Mondays, Sundays and holidays
from the hours of nine (9) o'clock A. M. to six (6) o'clock P. M. ,
and on Mondays from twelve (12) o'clock noon to nine (9) o'clock

In Parking Meter District No. 2 such time limits shall be
effective on all days, except Thursdays, Sundays and holidays
from the hours of nine (9) o'clock A. M. to six (6) o'clock P. M.
and on Thursdays from nine (9) o'clock A. M. to nine (9) o'clock
P. M. , except as otherwise provided.
25-113. 9 Seven (7) parking meter spaces on the west side of
Stanton Avenue immediately south of Lincoln Way shall have a
maximum parking limit of twelve (12) minutes during all hours
of every day.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as provided by law.

Moved by Fisher and seconded by Bledsoe the rules governing the
passage of ordinances be suspended, the second and third readings
be omitted and Ordinance No. 1091 be placed on its final passage.
