HomeMy WebLinkAboutA003 - Public Notice PUBLIC NOTICE TO WHOM IT NAY CONCERN: YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa proposes that Sections 42-3(b) and 42-4 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa and Ordinance No. 937, and the official zoning map therein referred to be amended to zone land recently annexed to the City, as follows: Section 1. That Sections 42-3(b) and 42-4 of the Munici- pal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, and Ordinance No. 937, and the official zoning map therein referred to are hereby amended to include land recently annexed to the City of Ames, Iowa in "A" Districts (Residence), said land being 1 described as follows: That part of the SW-1/4 of Section 26, T84N, R24W Ilying West of the centerline of Skunk River (except i Inis Grove Park), and except beginning at a point on the West line of Section 35, T84N, R24 W 303 feet North of the Southwest corner of the NW-1/4, NW-1/4 said Section 35, thence East to the centerline of Jensen Avenue in Broadmoor Third Addition to Ames, Iowa, thence North along the centerline of Jensen Avenue to the centerline of Luther :Drive in Broad- moor Third Addition to Ames, Iowa, thence Nest to a point 377. 6 feet East of the West line of said Section 35, thence North parallel to the West line of said Section 35 and the West line of Section 26, T84N, If R24 W to the South line of Overland Heights Sub- divison, thence ,Nest to the centerline of Grove Avenue in said Overland heights Subdivision thence North along the centerline of said Grove Avenue to the South line of Lot 2, Scalado Ridge &second Sub- division, thence 'Vest to the Southeast corner of Lot 1, said Scalado Ridge Second Subdivision thence ! North along the East line of said Lot 1 and parallel to the West line of said Section 26 to the south line of the North Half of the North half of the NW-1/4, SW-1/4 of said :section 26, thence East 200 feet, thence North 120 feet, thence West to the West line of said Section 26, thence South along the 'Nest lines of said Section 26 and Section 35 to the place of beginning. Section 2. I'd , Iowa, lying South of the South line of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway right-of-way, except the West 500 feet thereof. Section 4. That Sections 42-3(b) and 42-4 of the Nlunicipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, and Ordinance No. 937 and the official zoning map therein referred to, are hereby amended to include land recently annexed to the City of Arises, Iowa in "L" Districts (Heavy Industry), said land being described as follows: All that part of the SW-1/4, ;vvection 1, `I"83N, R24W, lying ;south of the North line of the Chicago and North- western Railroad right-of-way and lying vVesst of the centerline of Skunk Waiver except the West 300 feet of the South 217. 8 feet thereof. YOU ARE F'URTIIER NOTIFIED that the proposed ordinance incorpor- ating such change is now on file in the office of the City Clerk, Ames, Iowa, and a hearing on the adoption of the ordinance will be held before the City Council in the council chambers of the City Hall at 8:00 o'clock Y. 6. on the 7th day of may, 1963.
