HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Ordinance 1056 (Controlled-Access Facilities) ORDINANCE NO. 1069 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1056 OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY PROVIDING FOR CONTROLLED ACCESS FACILITIES ON RELOCATED U. S. HIGHWAY NO. 30; ON SOUTH DUFF AVENUE; AND ON LINCOLN WAY IN THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA. Be It Ordained By The City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. That Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1056 of the City of Ames, Iowa and Schedule I attached thereto and made a part thereof, be and the same are hereby amended by declaring "Relocated U. S. Highway No. 30 from the east corporation limits to the west corporation limits" to be a control ed-access facility. Access is hereby prohibited on such controlled- access facility, and no person shall have any right of ingress or egress to, from or across such controlled-access facility to or from abutting lands. Section 2. That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 1056 of the City of Ames, Iowa and Schedule II attached thereto and made a part thereof, be and the same are hereby amended by declaring "South Duff Avenue from South Third Street to the south corporation limits" and "Lincoln Way from River- side Drive to the west corporation limits" to be a controlled-access facility. Access is hereby regulated and restricted on such controlled-access facilities, and no person shall have any right of ingress or egress to, from or across such controlled access facilities to or from abutting lands, except at such designated points, and upon such terms and conditions as may be specifically authorized by the City Council and such other highway authority as may have jurisdiction and control over such facilities. Section 3. That all other provisions of Ordinance No. 1056 of the City of Ames, Iowa be and the same are hereby declared to be applicable to the streets designated in Sections 1 and ? hereof. Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after September J, 1963 and its passage and publication as provided by law. Passed this 7th day of May 1963. M. W. Jor a Clerk Pearle P.
