ORDINANCE NO. 1063
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE
CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SUBSECTION (13) OF SECTION 25-
105. 17 THEREOF; AND DESIGNATING STREETS WHERE PARKING IS PRO-
HIBITED.
Be It Ordained By The City Council of The City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
Section 1. That Subsection (13) of Section 25-105. 17 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Ames, Iowa be and the same is hereby repealed, and the
following enacted in lieu thereof to be known as Section 25-105. 17(13) of the
Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa:
25-105. 17 Parking is hereby prohibited at all times, except as
may be otherwise provided in the subparagraphs following, on
the streets of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
(13) Duff Avenue on the West side thereof from Lincoln
Way to Main Street, and on the East side thereof from
Lincoln Way to Main Street between the hours of four (4)
o'clock P. M. and six (6) o'clock P. M. , daily, except
East of the East curb line; and on the West side thereof
from Sixth Street to Thirteenth Street; and on the East
side thereof from Thirteenth Street to Twentieth Street;
and on South Duff Avenue on both sides from Lincoln
Way to the North line of South Third Street. On South
Duff Avenue on both sides from the North line of South
Third Street to the South corporate li_l_its; provided however,
that parking may be permitted in specifically designated
areas back of the sidewalk, and further provided that
parking shall be prohibited on minor street approaches
for a distance of thirty -five (35) feet in advance of a
stop sign and on exit sides of the minor streets for a
distance of thirty-five (35) feet back of the crosswalks.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as provided by law.

passed on its second reading.

Moved by Eschbach and seconded by Bledsoe the rules governing
the passage of ordinances be suspended, the third reading be
omitted and Ordinance No. 1063 be placed on its final passage.

Voting Nay: None
Absent: Schilletter

Mayor DeHart declared Ordinance No. 1063 duly adopted.
I, M. W. Jordan, City Clerk, City of Ames, Iowa, do hereby Certify
that the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 1063 was duly and
properly adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
at its meeting on the 2nd day of April, 1963, and published in
the Ames Daily Tribune on the 8th day of April, 1963.
