ORDINANCE NO. 060
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF
THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SUBSECTION (13) OF SECTION
25-105. 17 THEREOF; AND DESIGNATING STREETS WHERE PARKING IS
PROHIBITED.
Be It Ordained By The City Council of The City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
Section 1. That Subsection (13) of Section 25-105. 17 of the
Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa be and the same is hereby repealed,
and the following enacted in lieu thereof to be known as Section 25-105. 17(13)
of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa:
25-105. 17 Parking is hereby prohibited at all times, except
as may be otherwise provided in the subparagraphs following,
on the streets of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
(13) Duff Avenue on both sides from Lincoln Way to
Main Street except on the East side where parallel
parking is permitted east of the curb line in areas
surfaced for parking, and on the west side thereof
from Sixth Street to Thirteenth Street, and on the
east side thereof from Thirteenth Street to Twentieth
Street; and on South Duff Avenue on both sides from
Lincoln Way to the north line of South Third Street.
On South Duff Avenue on both sides from the north
line of South Third Street to the south corporate
limits; provided, however, that parking may be
permitted in specifically designated areas back of
the sidewalk, and further provided that parking
shall be prohibited on minor street approaches
for a distance of thirty-five (35) feet in advance
of a stop sign and on exit sides of the minor
streets for a distance of thirty-five (35) feet back
of the crosswalks.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as provided by law.

be passed on its second reading.

Moved by Judge and seconded by Armstrong the rules governing the
passage of ordinances be suspended, the third readings be omitted
and Ordinance No. 1060 be placed for final passage.
