HORNBACHER, atordef AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAMES OF STREETS AND NAMING STREETS IN THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, AND PARTICULARLY IN THE TERRITORY RECENT- LY ANNEXED TO SAID CITY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the names of streets and avenues in the City of Ames, Iowa, and particularly in the territory recently annexed to the City be and the same are hereby named or the names changed as follows: U.S. Highway No. 69 from Twenty-Fourth Street to the North corporate limits shall be known as Grand Avenue That the street beginning at the East 1/4 corner of Section 27, Township 84 North, Range 24 West and run- ning West to the West corporate limits shall be known as Top-O-Hollow Road. That the street running North of Top-O-Hollow Road between Sections 27 and 28 in Township 84 North, Range 24 West to the North corporate limits shall be known as Eisenhower Avenue. That the street formerly old U. S. Highway No. 69 and running Northwesterly of Top-O-Hollow Road and just West of Grand Avenue to the North corporate limits shall be known as Dawes Drive. That the street running West from the Northeast cor- ner of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 34, Township 84 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. , thence West to the West corporate limits shall be known as Twenty-Fourth Street. That the street starting at the center of Section 27, Township 84 North, Range 24 West and running South to Twenty-Fourth Street shall be known as Hoover Avenue. That the street in Overland Heights Subdivision form- erly known as Grove Avenue shall be known as Grove Avenue. That the street in Overland Heights Subdivision formerly known as Speck Avenue shall be known as Kellogg Avenue. That the street in Overland Heights Subdivision formerly known as Northwood Drive shall be known as Northwood Drive. That the street in Overland Heights Subdivision formerly known as Joy Circle shall be known as Joy Circle. r 2 - That the street in Overland Heights Subdivision formerly known as River Oak Drive and lying between Grove Avenue and Northwood Drive shall be known as River Oak Drive. That the Street in Overland Heights Subdivision lying East of Northwood Drive and being a dead end exten- sion of River Oak Drive shall be known as River Oak Circle. That the street in the Plat of the Town of Ontario formerly known as Walnut Street shall be known as North Dakota Avenue. That the street in the Plat of the Town of Ontario formerly known as Maple Avenue shall be known as Delaware Avenue. That the street in the Plat of the Town of Ontario formerly known as Elm Street shall be known as Florida Avenue. That the street in the Plat of the Town of Ontario known as Willow Street shall be known as Georgia Avenue. That the street in the Plat of the Town of Ontario formerly known as Pine Street shall be known as Reliable Street. That the street in the Plat of the Town of Ontario formerly known as Cedar Street shall be known as Toronto Street. That the street in the Plat of the Town of Ontario formerly known as Fir Street shall be known as Hutch- ison Street. That the street beginning at the Northwest corner of Section 5, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. , and running West to the West corporate limits shall be known as Ontario Street. That U. S. Highway No. 30 beginning at the West edge of Marshall Avenue and running west to the West cor- porate limits shall be known as Lincoln Way. That the street beginning at Lincoln Way and running North between Sections 5 and 6 in Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. , to the termination thereof shall be known as North Dakota Avenue . That the street lying in the East Half of Section 6, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. beginning at the North line of said Section 6 and running thence South to its intersection with North Dakota Avenue, and formerly known as Main Street in the Plat of New Philadelphia, shall be known as Delaware Avenue. y.. .. , BOOK../.. : _PAGE.✓ .��. 3 - That the dead end street lying in Damon Catron's Sub- division in the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 6, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. and lying West of and connecting with Delaware Avenue, shall be known as Dover Drive. That the street lying in the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 5, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. , between Woodland Street and Lincoln Way, shall be known as Hickory Drive. That the street beginning at Lincoln Way and running South between Sections 7 and 8, Townsh.ip 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. to the South corporate limits shall be known as South Dakota Avenue. That the street (Formerly U. S. Highway 30) lying South of Lincoln Way in the North Half of the North- west Quarter of Section 8, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. , shall be known as Lincoln Swing. That Lot 7 in Kenfield Acres Subdivision shall be known as Todd Drive. That Lot 12 in Kenfield Acres Subdivision and the West 20 feet of the East 35 Rods of the West 75 Rods of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 8, Township 84 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. shall be known as Abraham Drive. That the street in Beedle ' s Subdivision formerly known as Beedle Drive shall be known as Beedle Drive. That the Street in Beedle ' s Subdivision formerly known as Dotson Drive shall be known as Dotson Drive. That the street in Beedle ' s Subdivision formerly known as Baughman Road Shall be known as Baughman Road. That the street in Beedle ' s Subdivision formerly known as Alpin Road shall be known as Alpin Road. That the street beginning at the North line of the Southeast Quarter of Section 9, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. and running South between the East Half and the West Half of said South- east Quarter, Section 9 to the North line of the South Half of said Southeast Quarter, Section 9, shall be known as Ash Avenue. That the street connecting with the South end of Ash Avenue and running thence West to the West corporate limits, shall be known as Mortenson Road . That the street lying between the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 8 and the North- west Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 9, all in Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. , being an extension of present State Avenue, south to Mortenson Road, shall be known as State Ave- nue. 4 - That the street lying between the Southeast Quarter of Section 9 and the Southwest Quarter of Section 10, all .in Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. being an extension of present Beach Avenue, South to the South corporate limits, shall be known as Beach Avenue. That the street running between the center of Section 14 and the center of Section 15, all in Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. , shall be known as Airport Road. That the street North from the center of Section 15, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. , to the intersection of South Fourth Street shall be known as Elwood Drive. That U.S. Highway No. 69 from the center of Section 11, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. South to the South Corporate limits shall be known as South Duff Avenue. That the street lying between the South line of Sec- tion 11 and the North line of Section 14, all in Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. and running from South Duff Avenue East to the East cor- porate limits, shall be known as South Sixteenth Street. That U. S. Highway No. 30 from the West line of Sec- tions 1 and 12 in Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. running thence East to the East cor- porate limits shall be known as East Lincoln Way. That the street beginning at the Southeast corner of Section 1, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. and running thence North to the North Cor- porate limits shall be known as Dayton Avenue. That the street beginning at the Southeast corner of Section 1, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. and running thence South to the South cor- porate limits shall be known as South Dayton Avenue. That the street in Woodland Acres Subdivision from East Lincoln Way south to the South corporate limits shall be known as Freel Drive. That the street lying between Section 1, Township 83 North and Section 36, Township 84 North, both in Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. and between Section 31, Township 84 North and Section 6, Township 83 North, both in Range 23 West of the 5th P.M. from the east corporate limits to the west corporate limits shall be known as East Thirteenth Street.
