' 1047 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 62 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTIONS 62-16, 62-16. 11, 62-17. 1, and 62-17. 2 THEREOF; PROVIDING FOR ODOMETER OR TAXIMETER RATES IN THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Sections 62-16 through 62-16. 11 of Chapter 62 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa be and the same are hereby repealed. Section 2. That Sections 62-17. 1 and 62-17. 2 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa be and the same are hereby repealed and the following be and the same are hereby enacted in lieu thereof to be known as Sections 62-17. 1 and 62-17. 2, respectively, of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa: 62-17. 1. Authority is hereby granted to the owner of any licensed taxicab to charge odometer rates or to install in said cab a taximeter of a size and design approved by the city manager. Such installation shall be inspected by said city manager and shall be certified by him as accurate. After sundown and until sunrise the face of every taximeter shall be illuminated by a suitable light. 62-17. 2. Maximum Taximeter or Odometer Rates. No person owning or operating any taxicab within the limits of the city shall charge to exceed the following rates to be determined by the odometer or the taximeter: First half mile or fraction thereof $ . 40 For each succeeding 1/4 mile or fraction thereof . 10 For each additional passenger for whole journey . 20 For each minute of waiting time . 10 For each trunk carried 1. 25 For each foot locker carried . 50 Provided, however, that between the hours of one (1:00) and seven (7:00) o'clock A. M. the minimum charge for taxi services within the corporate limits of the city, lying west of the Squaw Creek, shall be One 01. 00) Dollar. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 4.
