ORDINANCE NO. 1041
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE
CITY OF A.MES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTIONS 25-115 AND 25-115. 1
THEREOF; and PROVIDING FOR TWO MINUTE OR RESTRICTED UNMETERE
PARKING, APPLICATIONS THEREFOR, AND PAYMENT OF PARKING METE
RATES THEREFOR.
Be It Ordained By The City Council of The City of Ames, Iowa as follows:
Section 1. That Sections 25-115 and 25-115. 1 of Chapter 25 of the
Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa be and the same is hereby repealed
and the following be and the same is hereby enacted in lieu thereof to be known
as Sections 25-115 and 25-115. 1 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames,
Iowa.
25-115. Two Minute or Restricted Unmetered Parking.
The City Manager may, with the consent of the council,
designate the zone and order two-minute or restricted
unmetered parking during such portion of the day as will
expedite the movement of vehicular traffic or loading on
or across any street, avenue, or alley within the parking
meter district.
25-115. 1 Application For Two Minute or Restricted Unmetered
Parking. The proprietor of any business establishment within
any parking meter district, desiring unmetered two-minute
parking or restricted parking for the proprietor's commercial
trucks for the purpose of loading or unloading, in the street,
avenue or alley abutting his business establishment, shall
make a written proposal therefor to the city manager. The
city manager shall present such request with his recommend-
ations thereon to the council for its approval or disapproval.
The granting of such request shall be contingent upon the
proprietor agreeing to pay into the parking meter fund yearly
in advance a sum of money equivalent to the hourly charge
for parking multiplied by the number of hours per year
during which unmetered parking is in effect for each such
parking space. Meters involved shall be covered during
the tims applicable and appropriate signs indicating the
restrictions and the times thereof shall be placed and
maintained during the times unmetered parking is applicable.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as provided by law.

Mayor DeHart declared Ordinance No. 1041 duly adopted.

certify that the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 1041 was duly
and properly adopted at a meeting of the City Council on the 18th
day of September, 1962, and published in the Ames Daily Tribune
on the 21st day of September, 1962.
