AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CI-#A�TER 65 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE
CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY RE EALING SECTION 65-6 THEREOF; AND PRO-
VIDING FOR EXCEPTIONS TO THE APPLICATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF
CHAPTER 65 OF SAID MUNICIPAL CODE.
Be It Ordained By The City Council of The City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. That Section 65-6 of the Municipal Code of the
City of Ames, Iowa, be and the same is hereby repealed and the fol-
lowing be and the same is hereby enacted in lieu thereof to be
known as Section 65-6 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames,
Iowa:
65-6. Exceptions to Chapter Provisions. The provisions
of this chapter shall not apply to service stations and
bulk storage plants in operation within the city prior
to August 14, 1962, provided, however, that any major
changes or additions to the buildings or driveways of
such stations or plants shall be in accordance with the
requirements specified in this chapter, if possible, or
as determined by the city council commensurate with the
factors of safety at the pertinent location.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
