AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 42-3(b) and 42-4 OF ORDINANCE
f NO. 937 OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA. BY CHANGING CERTAIN "A"
DISTRICT (RESIDENCE) TO "E" DISTRICT (HEAVY INDUSTRY)
Be It Ordained By The City Council of The City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
Section 1. That Sections 42-3ib) and 42-4 of Ordinance No. 937 of
the City of Ames, Iowa, and the official zoning map therein referred to,
are hereby amended so as to change and rezone from an 'A" District
(Residen:e) to an "E" District (Heavy Industry), the following described
property:
That part of Lot 17 of Auditor's Plat of Keigley's Addition of
Lot 10, Section 10, Township 83 North, Range 24 West, lying
East of the East line of South Maple Avenue, also that part of
Lot 18 of Auditor's Plat of Keigley's Addition of Lot 6, Section
10, Township 83 North, Range 24 West lying East of the East
line of South Maple Avenue, also that part of Lot 6, Section 10,
Township 83 North, Range 24 West, described as beginning at
the Southeast corner of the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest
Quarter of said Section 10, thence North 374 feet, thence East
223. 9 feet, thence South 374 feet, thence West 228 feet to the
point of beginning, also that part of Lot 9, Section 10, Township
83 North, Range 24 West, described as beginnink at a point in
the South line of South Fourth Street 50 feet South of the North-
west corner of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter
of Section 10, Township 83 North, Range 24 West, thence East
272. 8 feet, thence South 250 feet, thence East 240. 7 feet, thence
South 468. 2 feet, thence West 300 feet, thence South 180. 2 feet,
thence West 223. 9 feet, thence North to the point of beginning.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
�. provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
{ Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as provided by law.

Ordinance No. 1035 be passed on its second reading.

Voting Nay: None
Absent: Brouhard
Moved by Ratterree and seconded by Eschbach the rules governing
the passage of ordinances be suspended, the third reading be
omitted and Ordinance No. 1035 be placed on its final passage.

Voting Nay: None
Absent: Brouhard
Moved by Judge and seconded by Eschbach Ordinance No. 1035 do
now pass.

Mayor DeHart declared Ordinance No. 1035 duly adopted.
I, M. W. Jordan, City Clerk of the City of Ames, Iowa, do hereby
certify that the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 1035 was duly
and properly passed at a meeting of the City Council on the 14th
day of August, 1962, and published in the Ames Daily Tribune on
the 24th day of August, 1962.
