AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 61 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF TH
CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTIONS 61-7 AND 61-44 THEREO ,
AND PROVIDING BOUNDARIES WITHIN WHICH CLASS "B" BEER PERMITS
WILL BE ISSUED, AND THE NUMBER OF CLASS "B" BEER PERMITS TO BE
ISSUED.
Be It Ordained By The City Council of The City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
Section 1. That Sections 61-7 and 61-44 of Chapter 61 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, be and the same are hereby repealed, and the
following be and the same are hereby enacted in lieu thereof to be known as
sections 61-7 and 61-44, respectively of the Municipal Code of the City of
Ames, Iowa:
61-7 Location of Premises of Class "B" Permitees. The
places of business of all Class "B" Permitees shall be located only
within the boundaries of the following described area or district,
to-wit:
Beginning at a point 200 feet east of the center line of
Duff Avenue and Sixth Street, thence west on the center
line of Sixth Street to the center line of Douglas Avenue,
thence south along the center line of Douglas Avenue to the
center line of the alley between Main Street and Fifth
Street, thence west along the center line of said alley
and of said alley extended to the center line of Clark Street,
thence South along center line of Clark Street and Clark
Street extended to a point 200 feet south of the center line
of Lincoln Way, thence east along a line 200 feet south of
the center line of said Lincoln Way and parallel thereto
to a point 200 feet west of the center line of Duff Avenue,
thence south along a line 200 feet west of the centerline
of South Duff Avenue and parallel thereto to a point 4. 56
chains south of the south line of South Third Street, thence
east to a point 200 feet east of the center line of Duff
Avenue, thence north along a line 200 feet distant from
the center line of(Duff Avenue and parallel thereto to a
point 150 feet south of the centerline of Lincoln Way,
thence east along a line 150 feet south of the centerline
of Lincoln Way and parallel thereto to the east Section
line of Section 11, Township 83 North, Range 24 West
of the 5th P. M. , thence north along the east Section line
of Section 11 and Section 2 of said Township and Range
to a point 150 feet north of the centerline of Lincoln
Way, thence west along a line 150 feet north of and
parallel to the centerline of Lincoln Way to a point 200
feet east of the centerline of Duff Avenue, thence north
along a line 200 feet east from the centerline of Duff
Avenue and parallel thereto to the point of beginning,
and excepting therefrom any property within 175 feet
of any school or church property located within or
adjacent to said tract.
61-44. Number of Permits. The number of Class "B" permits
to be issued in the City of Ames, Iowa shall be limited to the minimum
number as provided by the laws of the State of Iowa.

Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as provided by law.

passed on its first reading.

Voting Nay: None

Moved by Ratterree and seconded by Armstrong the rules governing
the passage of ordinances be suspended, the second and third
readings be omitted and Ordinance No. 1032 be placed on its final
reading.

Voting Nay: None
Absent: Eschbach
Moved by Bledsoe and seconded by Judge Ordinance No. 1032 do now
pass.

Mayor DeHart declared Ordinance No. 1032 duly adopted.
I, M. W. Jordan, City Clerk of the City of Ames, do hereby certify
that the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 1032 was duly and prop-
erly passed at a meeting of the City Council on the loth day of
July, 1962, and published in the Ames Daily Tribune on the 18th day
of July, 1962.
