HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Chapter 25 of Municipal Code (Signs) ORDINANCE NO. 1028 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA BY REPEALING SECTION 25-40 THEREOF; AND PROVIDING AUTHORITY FOR THE DESIGNATION OF THROUGH HIGHWAYS AND THE ERECTION OF "STOP" OR "YIELD" SIGNS. Be It Ordained By The City Council of The City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. That section 25-40 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa be and the same is hereby repealed; and the following enacted in lieu thereof to be known as Section 25-40 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa: 25-40 Authority to Designate Through Highways and to Erect "Stop" or "Yield" signs. Whenever an ordinance of this city designates and describes a "through street" it shall be the duty of the city manager to place and maintain a "stop"or "yield" sign on each and every street intersecting such "through street" or intersecting that portion thereof described and designated as such by any ordinance of this city. Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law. Passed this 15th day of May 1962. M. W. Jorda y Clerk #.
