HomeMy WebLinkAboutA001 - Motion to provide for issuance of GO Sewer Bonds Ames, Iowa April 10 1962 The City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, met on the loth day of April 1962, at 8 :00 o ' clock P.M. , at the ouncil Chambers of City Hall, Ames, Iowa, in ad 'ourned session. The Mayor presided and the roll was calie s owing members present and absent as follows : Armstrong, Bledsoe, Brouhard, Eschbach, Judge, Ratterree Absent : None The Council, then considered the adoption of an ordinance pro- viding for the issuance of $235,000 General Obligation Sewer Bonds and Councilman Eschbach introduced an ordinance entitled: "Ordinance No. 1023 An ordinance providing for the issuance of General Obligation 7ewer Bonds in the sum of $235, 000 for the purpose of paying the cost to that amount, of the construction of sewers in the City of Ames, Iowa, and for providing for an annual levy upon all the taxable property in said City sufficient to pay the interest on and principal of said bonds. It was moved by Councilman Eschbach and seconded by Councilman Jud a that the ordinance entitled : "Ordinance No. 1023 n or finance providing for the issuance of General Obliga ion Sewer Bonds in the sum of $235,000 for the purpose of paying the cost to that amount, of the construction of sewers in the City of Ames, Iowa, and for providing for an annual levy upon all the taxable property in said City sufficient to pay the interest on and principal of said bonds" be now read by the City Clerk. The Mayor put the question on the motion, and the roll being called, the following named Councilmen voted: Ayes : Armstrong, Bledsoe, Brouhard Eschbach Judge atterree Nays : None. Whereupon, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried, and said ordinance was read by the City Clerk and duly considered by the Council. It was moved by Councilman Ratterree and seconded by Councilman Bledsoe that the ru e requlring said ordinance to be read on three different days be dispensed with. The Mayor put the question on the motion, and the roll being called, the following named Councilmen voted: Ayes : Armstrong, Bledsoe, Brouhard, Eschbach, Judge, Ratterree Nays : None. Whereupon, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried. It was moved by Councilman Eschbach and seconded by Councilman Ratterree that the ordinance en itled: "Ordinance No. 1023 n ordinance providing for the issuance of General HERRICK, LANGDON, SANDBLOM & BELIN, LAWYERS, DES MOINES, IOWA Obligation Sewer Bonds in the sum of $235,000 for the purpose of paying the cost to that amount, of the construction of sewers in the City of Ames, Iowa, and for providing for an annual levy upon all the taxable property in said City sufficient to pay the interest on and principal of said bonds ", be now put upon its final passage and adoption. The Mayor put the question on the final passage and adoption of said ordinance and the roll being called, the following named Councilmen voted: Ayes : Armstrong, Bledsoe, Brouhard, Eschbach, Judge, Ratterree Nays : None.
