HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Chapter 2 of Municipal Code (Council Compensation) ORDINANCE NO. 1016 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTION 2-17 THEREOF: AND PROVIDING FOR COMPENSATION OF CITY COUNCILMEN IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 269, LAWS OF THE FIFTY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Se ction 2-17 of Chapter 2 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, be and the same is hereby repealed, and the following enacted in lieu the reof to be known as Section 2-17 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa: 2-17. Compensation of Councilmen. Each councilman shall receive in full compensation for all services of every character connected with his official duties, ten dollars ($10. 00) for each and every day of meeting of the council which he attend4. the aggregate of which shall not exceed seven hundred dollars ($700. 00) in any one year. Such compensation shall be audited and paid at the end of each six months. Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions hereof are hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law, and shall apply to all councilmen in accordance with Chapter 269, Laws of the Fifty-Eighth General Assembly.
