HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Chapter 31 of Municipal Code (Water Service) ORDINANCE NO. 1015 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 31 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES,P IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTION 31-18 THEREOF AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 925; AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION 31-18 THEREOF PROVIDING FOR WATER SERVICE CONNECTIONS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES IOWA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Section 31-18 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as amended by Ordinance No. 925 be and the same is hereby repealed and the following be and the same is hereby enacted in lieu thereof to be known as Section 31-18 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa: 31-18 Supply From One Connection. Not more than one building shall be supplied with water from one service connection, provided, however, that in any districts zoned "D" or "E" under Chapter 42 of this code, where two or more separate buildings are situated upon one lot or parcel of ground under one ownership, the City Manager upon application may determine the manner and number of service connec- tions and metering therefor. Where two or more apartments are located in one building and each tenant or user desires water furnished through a separate meter, the service from the main ma-y- be divided inside the foundation walls of the building to supply each meter. Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3.
