AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 47 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE
CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTION 47-22. 2 THEREOF; AND
PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE BUILDING CODE.
Be It Ordained By The City Council of The City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
Section 1,, That Section 47-22. 2 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Ames, Iowa, be and the same is hereby repealed; and the following enacted
in lieu thereof to be known as Section 47-22. 2 of the Municipal Code of the
City of Ames, Iowa:
47-22. 2 Penalties. Any person who shall violate a provision
of the building code or shall fail to comply with any of the
requirements thereof, or who shall erect, construct, alter or
repair a building or structure in violation of an approved plan
or directive of the building official, or of a permit or
certificate issued under the provisions of the building code,
shall upon conviction thereof be fined not exceeding One
i Hundred Dollars ($100. 00), or be imprisoned not exceeding

- rF\ Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as provided by law.

the passage of ordinances be suspended, the second and third read-
ings be omitted and Ordinance No. 1012 be placed on its final
passage.

Mayor DeHart declared Ordinance No. 1012 duly adopted.
I , M. W. Jordan, City Clerk of the City of Ames, Iowa, do hereby
certify that the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 1012 was duly
and properly passed at a meeting of the City Council on the 5th
day of December , 1961, and published in the Ames Daily Tribune on
the 11th day of December , 1961.
