AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 ON TRAFFIC OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA„ AND ORDINANCE NO. 996 BY
REPEALING SUBSECTIONS (5), (35)a, (39), and (42) OF SECTION 25-105. 17
THEREOF, and DESIGNATING STREETS WHERE PARKING IS PROHIBITED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF A MES„ IOWA
AS FOLLOWS:
Se ction 1. That Subsections (5), (35)a, (39) and (42) of Section
25-105. 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa and Ordinance No.
996 be and the same are hereby repealed, and the following enacted in lieu
thereof to be known as Sections 25-105. 17(5), 25-105. 17(35)a, 25-105. 17(39),
and 25-105. 17(42) of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa:
25-105. 17. Parking is hereby prohibited at all times,
except as may be otherwise provided in the subparagraphs
following, on the streets of the City of Ames, Iowa as
follows:
(5) Brookridge Avenue on the west side from Sixth
Street to Ninth Street, and on the east side thereof
from the north line of Sixth( Street north a distance
of forty (40) feet.
(35)a South Oak Avenue on the East side from Lincoln
Way to South Fourth Street.
(39) Ridgewood Avenue on the east side from Sixth
Street to Ninth Street, and on the east side thereof
from Thirteenth Stre-'r, "z) to south line of Crescent Street,
and on the west side thereof from the north line of Sixth
Street north a distance of forty (40) feet.
(42) Sheldon Avenue on the east side from Lincoln Way
to Hyland Avenue, and on the west side of Sheldon Avenue
from the north line of Lincoln Way north for a distance
of 350 feet, and on both sides of South Sheldon Avenue
from Lincoln Way to the south line of Arbor Street.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as provided by law.

passed: on its first reading.

Voting Nay: None
Absent: Mayor Deflart, Councilman Armstrong
Moved by Ratterree and seconded by Schilletter the rules governing
the passage of ordinances be suspended, the second and third read-
ings be omitted and Ordinance No. 1001 be placed on its final
passage.

Voting Nay: None
Absent: Mayor DeHart, Councilman Armstrong
Moved by Schilletter and seconded by %schbach Ordinance No. 1001
do now pass.

Mayor Pro Tem Judge declared Ordinance No. 1001 duly adopted.
I, M. W. Jordan, City Clerk of the City of Ames, Iowa, do hereby
certify that the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 1001 was duly
and properly passed at a meeting of the City Council on the 18th
day of July, 1961, and published in the Ames Daily Tribune on the
27th day of July, 1961.
