HomeMy WebLinkAboutA006 - Email from Legal Department regarding new bill (HF692), changing date of special elections Gov. R. signed election law bill City Council and Mayor, Steve Schainker, Mark Lambert to: Brian Phillips, Keith A Abraham 05/20/2019 01:16 PM On Thursday, May 16, Governor Reynolds signed the election law bill, HF 692, which (among other things) changes the date of municipal special elections from August to September. Now that we know that the bill has been signed, we can proceed to set the date for the Healthy Life Center referendum. As the new law doesn't go into effect until July 1, cities certifying elections before July 1 can choose to go with the August 6 or September 10 dates. The Manager's recommendation is that we set the election for September 10. Mark «%k Pmes Mark O.
