SUBJECT: Terms of Office for Iowa Cities
Attached is a compilation of the research performed by the Iowa League of Cities as to terms of office
for 20 cities in Iowa. I thought it would be of interest to you since the petition has been filed for a
Special Election to change to two-year terms. You should note on this recap that two of the four cities
with two-year terms are commission-type cities and not mayor/council form of government.
