The meeting was called to o Rex V.d Grosser by the Chairman and the roll being called, there were present Chairman, in the chair, and the following named Supervisors : Johnie Hammond, Larry Larson Absent: All of the election registers of the election precinct officials of the special election held in the City of Ames, in Story County, Iowa, on the 24th. day of May , 1977, having been pre- sented and duly examined by the Board of Supervisors, Board Member Gross introduced and caused to be read the resolution herein- after set out entitled, "Resolution canvassing and declaring the re- sults of an election on a bond proposition" . Board Member Larry Larson moved that the said resolution be adopted, seconded by Board Member Johnie Hammond , and after due consideration thereof by the Board, the Chairman put the question and upon the roll being called, the following Members of the Board voted: Ayes : three Nays : none Whereupon, the Chairman declared the said resolution duly adopted and signed his approval thereto. Canvassing and declaring the result of an election on a bond proposition WHEREAS , pursuant to a resolution heretofore adopted by the Coun- cil of the City of Ames , in Story County, Iowa, a special election was held in and for said City, on the 24th day of May , 1977 , at which there was submitted to the voters of the City and by them voted upon the following proposition: "Shall the City of Ames , Iowa, issue its bonds in an amount not exceeding the amount of $1 , 300 , 000 for the purpose of acquiring, constructing and improving swimming pools and acquiring real estate therefor, consisting of: constructing a 25-meter swimming pool and a 50-meter swimming pool , one to be located in a west side neighborhood and one to be located in an ease side neighborhood, and acquiring sites therefor, and purchasing and improving the old existing Ames Golf and Country Club swimming pool and 13 acres of surround- ing real estate therefor, all in and for the City?" and WHEREAS , legal, sufficient and timely notice of the proposition and of the date and hours of the election and the voting precincts thereof, with their corresponding polling places, was duly published; and WHEREAS , the returns of the election have been certified and filed with this Board of Supervisors and duly canvassed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Story, in the State of Iowa, as follows : Section 1. That it is hereby found and declared that the total number of ballots cast at the election as shown by the election registers is 5636 Section 4. That the proposition and the results of the vote thereon shall be entered at large in the minutes book and the County Commissioner of Elections shall at once certify a copy of this reso- lution to the Clerk of the City of Ames , who shall cause it to be re- corded in its records. Section 5. That this resolution be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage and approval.
