Ames,IA 5011 DO NOT WRITE IN THE SPACE ABOVE THIS LINE,RESERVED FOR RECORDER 4+Yp&retM:Diane Voss,City Clerk's Office,515 Clark Avenue,Ames,IA 50010 Rofere+m Ames City Clerk,P.O.Box 811,Ames,IA 50010 Phone:515-239-5105 RESOLUTION NO. 21-189 RESOLUTION APPROVING EASEMENT FOR ISU PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE PROJECT WITHIN UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,Iowa State University is proposing the construction of a pedestrian bridge across University Boulevard, connecting Jack Trice Stadium on the west with satellite parking areas on the east; and, WHEREAS,on March 23,2020,the City Council set the public hearing date for an easement to facilitate this project; and, WHEREAS, an Easement Agreement has been prepared by the City and ISU staff and the Agreement allows the bridge's structure to be located within and overtop of the City's right-of-way for a period of 50 years; and, WHEREAS, in exchange for the easement, ISU will pay the City $1, and agrees to make the bridge accessible for public use as a safe alternative crossing for University Boulevard; and, WHEREAS,the easement provides construction access to ISU and provides that ISU will complete site restoration following construction. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Easement Agreement between the City and Iowa State University to allow a pedestrian bridge to be located within and over top of the City's right-of-way on University Boulevard is hereby approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the date of the public hearing on April 13, 2021, regarding granting an easement for the ISU Pedestrian Bridge over University Boulevard is hereby approved.
