RESOLUTION NO. 11-031
RESOLUTION PROPOSING VACATION OF PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY
LOCATED AT SUMNER AVENUE SOUTH OF SE 2ND STREET AND AT THE
ALLEY SOUTH OF SE 2ND STREET IN KINGSBURY'S ADDITION THE CITY
OF AMES, IOWA; SETTING DATE, TIME, AND PLACE OF PUBLIC
HEARING THEREON, AND DIRECTING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE.
WHEREAS, the City of Ames is the owner of Sumner Avenue public right-of-way south of
Southeast Second Street and the alley right-of-way in Kingsbury's Addition to the City of Ames,
Iowa, south of Southeast Second Street; and
WHEREAS,the City Council finds that the public right-of-way is not currently being used and
will not serve a public purpose in the foreseeable future; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Iowa Code section 364.12 the City Council has the authority following
notice and hearing to vacate public rights-of-way;
THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa:
A public hearing on the proposed vacation of the public way as aforesaid shall be lheld as'
required by law to coincide with the City Council meeting of February 8, 2011, �cli will � glri�
