RESOLUTION APPROVING EASEMENT AGREEMENT
WITH PROPERTY OWNER
FOR NEIGHBORHOOD ART PROGRAM
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, the Public Art Commission's Neighborhood Sculpture Committee wishes to
purchase and place art sculptures in the Art Around the Corner Exhibit in the Ames Main Street area;
and,
WHEREAS, the Committee aims to collaborate with Ames neighborhoods that might be
interested in acquiring one of these works; and,
WHEREAS, the neighborhood at the intersection of Friley and Beach Avenue will receive
Symphony by artist V. Skip Willits; and,
WHEREAS, City staff is in the process of completing an easement agreement with property
owner Jim Triplett, since the City will own the artwork being placed on private property.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that
the easement agreement with property owner Jim Triplett for placement of City-owned artwork on
private property is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 28'day of March, 2006.
