RESOLUTION NO. Q2-3
RESOLUTION TO RELEASE AND ABANDON CERTAIN
PARKING EASEMENTS PERTAINING TO PARKING SPACES
FOR APARTMENTS ON STANTON AVENUE,AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS,certain easements have been granted to the City of Ames under provisions of
the City's zoning regulation to meet off-street parking space requirements for certain apartments on
Stanton Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, changes in buildings and changes in regulations has resulted in most of the
parking spaces provided by the easements being unnecessary to meet City zoning regulations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Ames,
Iowa:
Section One. The easement filed for record at Book 310, Page 44, on July 25, 1991 in the
office of the Recorder for Story County,Iowa,providing a parking easement for two spaces at 208
Stanton Avenue for residents and invitees of 218 Stanton Avenue shall be and is hereby released and
abandoned by the City of Ames, Iowa.
Section Two. The easement filed for record at Book 312,Page 94, on September 3, 1991,
in the Office of the Story County Recorder, providing a parking easement for two spaces at 208
Stanton Avenue for residents and invitees of 207 Stanton Avenue shall be and is hereby released and
abandoned.
Section Three. The easement filed for record at Book 200,Page 179,on January 13, 1984,
in the Office of the Story County Recorder,providing ten spaces at 218 Stanton Avenue for residents
and invitees of 207 Stanton Avenue shall be and is hereby partially released and abandoned, and
partially retained,to the effect that the easement with respect to four such parking spaces is released,
but the easement is retained to provide six parking spaces at 218 Stanton Avenue for residents and
invitees of 207 Stanton Avenue, Ames, Iowa.
