HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Use of Municipal Airport - Iowa State University 1EMORkNDUM OF UNDERSTANDING between TIE IGOM STATE COLLEGE OF PGRICULTUPE AND yErFANIC ARTS and T_'M CITY•OF AM-ES, IO":A 7,91EREAS, A Memorandum 6f Understanding was entered into on November 19 1943 between. the City of Ames and the Io,va State College rhere- by the College was per to use the Armes ?Ruricipal Airport for flight training and instruction of students in Aeronautical Engineering, and vrr'Iiy'EAS, The City of Ames and Iowa State College have agreed to contri- bute like sums for the further improvement of the airport under the provisions of the federal Airport Act, and -kS, The Civil Aeronautics Administration has tentatively allocated $70,000,00 from available appropriated funds as the United States share of the allowable costs of the proposed improvement projects Docket 947-1 -012-1 hereinafter referred to as the "Proposed roject", and 77 -=ERAS It is desirable that a new Menorand-um of Understanding be en- tered into between the parties heretop rTr�.'n T"=ORE: A. City of r:nes agrR.es; (1) That upon approval by the Civil Aeronautics Adminis- tration of the Grant Agreement for the Proposed Pro- ject to spend the su_- of 1352000.00 as its she - cf the construction. cos . of sucr, project; (2) To provide the necesspry engineering and supervision for the Proposed Project; (3) To grant. an easement to Iona State College for the use of an area as desi;nated on the plat attached hereto, between the boundaries of the P?E-., rurnrayp the East- West runway., and the highways on the North and East boundaries of the airport. Such easement right to e_, st during the period of continuous and. exclusive J use of the area by Iowa State College for aeronautical purposes. This easement right shall cease in event of failure of Iowa State College to pay the rental as pro- vided in article B-2 hereof. (41 To ssbmit the construction plans for the Proposed Projebt to Iorra State College for review and approval, 2 — B. The Iaxa State College agrees: (1) To pay to the City of Ames the sum of $35s000.00 as its share of the construction of the Proposed Project; (2) To pay a rental of $250,00 per month to the City of Ames for the use of the airport; (3) To comply r.ith all regulations and requirements of the Civil Aeronautics Administration_ in re- spect to the use of the land or the location of buildings or structures thereor. 7dthir the area under easement by To-,m State College; C.
