RIGHT OF WAY PERMIT AND EASEMENT
We, Robert S. Crane and Frieda E. Crane, husband and wife, in
consideration of the sum of One Dollar and other valuable considerations, the
receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant unto the City of
Ames, Iowa, a municipal corporation, its successors and assigns, the right
to enter upon the land described as follows; and the perpetual right to con-
struct, reconstruct, clean up, operate, maintain, cover over and repair a
storm sewer upon, under and across said land as follows:
5 feet on each side of a line beginning at a point 540. 12
feet West and 500feet North of the Southeast corner of
the Southwest Quarter of the`Southeast Quarter of
Section 5, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the
5th P. M. , thence North 25 0 451 East 45. 85 feet.
Also 5 feet on each side of a line commencing 540. 12
feet West and 50 feet North of the Southeast corner of
the Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of
Section 5, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the
5th P. M. , thence North 250 451 East 78. 07 feet,
thence North 60 151 West 80. 16 feet to the point of
beginning, thence continuing North 60 15 t West to a
point 39 feet East and 17 feet South of the center lines
of Crane Avenue and Story Streets extended, thence
North 160 Ot West to the intersection with the East
line of Crane Avenue extended.
Also the South 25 feet of Story Street extended East from
the East line of Lots 1 and 15 of Edge-wood Fifth Addition
to a point 5 feet East of the East line of Crane Avenue
extended, and also the East 30 feet of Crane Avenue extended
South from existing South end to intersection with the South
25 feet of Story Street extended.
The foregoing right is granted upon the express condition that the
City of Ames, Iowa will assume liability for all damages to the above de-
scribed property caused by said cityts failure to use due care in its exercise
of the right granted. 1
