Anderson, husband and wife, of Ames, Story County, Iowa, in consideration of the sum of One Dollar, receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant to the City of Ames, Iowa, a Municipal Corporation, its successors and assigns, the perpetual right to construct, and maintain a pole anchor and other similar equipment for the sole purpose of supporting an electric utility pole conveying electric current for power and lighting purposes, together with the right to extend to any telephone company, the right to use jointly the said anchor with the grantee placed pursuant to the provisions hereof, on the following described real estate: The North 4 feet of the West 10 feet of Lot Z, Block 1 of Chamberlain's Addition, Ames, Story County, Iowa. The foregoing right is granted upon the express condition that the City of Ames will assume liability for all damage to the hereinbefore des- cribed property caused by the said City's failure to use due care in its exercise of the granted right.
