OF CERTAIN LAND TO ACQUIRE AN APPLICATION TO THE SHERIF
EASEMENT FOR SANITARY SEWER PURPOSES FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A
BY THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA COMMISSION TO APPRAISE
DAMAGES
TO: J. I. SHALLEY, SHERIFF OF STORY COUNTY, IOWA
COMES NOW the City of Ames, Iowa and states that the public
interest requires that the City of Ames, Iowa acquire an easement
in certain land, herinafter described, by condemnation proceed-
ings, as authorized and provided by law.
The land affected and the record owners, lienholders,
encumbrancers and other persons interested therein are as follows
The Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of
Section 13, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the
5th P. M., Iowa.
The -North 15 acres of the Southwest Quarter of the
Northwest Quarter of Section 13, Township 83 North,
Range 24 West of the 5th P. M. , Iowa.
The Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of
Section 14, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the
5th P. M. , Iowa.
The North Half of the South Half of the Northeast
Quarter of Section 14, Township 83 North, Range 24
West of the 5th P. M., Iowa, except the East �371.2 feet
of the South 500 feet thereof.

The land sought to be appropriated is described as follows:

A perpetual easement for construction, operation,
maintenance and repair of a sanitary sewer upon, under
and across a strip of land twenty (20) feet wide lying
ten (10) feet on eaQfi side of the following described
center line: Beginning at a point 33 feet South of the i
Northwest corner of Section 13, Township 83 North,
Range 24 West of the 5th P. M. , Iowa, thence South
1557.4 feet.
In connection with this condemnation proceeding it is 1
specificAlly provided that the City of Ames, Iowa and
its representatives may encroach for an additional
thirty (30) feet on the East side of the above described
strip of land for the purpose of construction of the
sanitary sewer, including the condemnation of all trees
1 as may be necessary in said construction.
That a plat showing the location of the easement to be
condemned with reference to the above description is
hereto attached, marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof.
