RESOLUTION AMENDING PURCHASE ORDER NO. 49850C WITH THE CHICAGO AND NORTHWESTERN
TRANSPORTATION COMPANY IN CONNECTION WITH THE 13TH STREET EXTENSION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the CityCouncil of the City of Ames, Iowa, did, on Jul 17,

1979, adopt Resolution No. 79-320 approving an agreement with the Chicago and
Northwestern Transportation Company in connection with the construction of the
railroad structure for the 13th Street Extension Project, said agreement estab-
lishing the responsibilities of the City of Ames and the Chicago and Northwestern
Transportation Company as they relate to the actual construction phase of the
project; and
WHEREAS, Section 6, paragraph I(i ) of the agreement stipulates that
the City shall furnish and install sub-ballast and ballast on the deck of the
structure in order to reinstall the railroad tracks; and
WHEREAS, since the Chicago and Northwestern Transportation Company
will be placing sub-ballast and ballast on the approaches either side of the
structure, the City of Ames, Iowa, has requested a price to have the Chicago and
Northwestern Transportation Company furnish and install the required material ;
and
WHEREAS, the Chicago and Northwestern Transportation Company has sub-
mitted an estimated price to the City of Ames, Iowa, for supplying, transporting,
and placing the sub-ballast and ballast on the structure in the amount of $10,560.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Ames, Iowa, that the.existing Purchase Order No. 49850C with the Chicago and
Northwestern Transportation Company be amended to include supplying, transporting,
and placing of the required sub-ballast and ballast on the 13th Street Extension
Project structure at an estimated cost of $10,560.00.
ADOPTED this 2nd day of June, 1981.
