KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
THAT WE, Joe E. Lindholm and Vera Ruth Lindholm,
husband and wife; Glenn Aagaard and Delores Aagaard, husband
and wife; and Norman Anderson and Colleen C. Anderson, husband
and wife; of the County of Audubon, State of Iowa, in consideration
of the sum of ONE DOLLAR and other valuable consideration,
receipt of which is hereby acknowledged do hereby grant to the
city of Ames, a Municipal corporation, its successors and assigns,
the perpetual right to construct, reconstruct, maintain, and use
its electric lines, consisting of poles, wires, overhead or
underground cables, fixtures, anchors, and other similar equip-
ment or any part thereof, for the sole purpose of conveying
electric current for power and lighting purposes, together with
the right to extend to any telephone, electric or power company
the right to use jointly with the grantee, any pole placed
pursuant to the provisions hereof, together with the right to
trim any trees where necessary to secure adequate clearance
for the safe operation of the electric lines upon, underground,
or adjacent to that certain piece of real estate hereinafter
described in the following manner:
Commencing at a point 1280.3 feet East of and 473 .2 feet North
of the Southwest corner of the Northwest Quarter (NW1) of the

Northeast Quarter (NE-14 en owns
) of Section T (10) , Township Eighty-
three (83) North, Range Twenty-four (24) , West of the 5th P .M . ,
which point is the intersection of the North line of South
Third Street and the East line of South Maple Avenue in the
City of Ames, Iowa, and is located 60 feet East of the South-
east corner of . Lot 6, Block 3, Nash's Addition to Ames, Iowa;
thence East along the North line of South Third Street 329.9
feet to the point of intersection of the West line of South
Oak Avenue, which point lies 60 feet West of the Southwest
corner of Lot , in Block 2, Brashears Addition to Ames, Iowa;
thence North 0 111 West along the West line of South Oak Avenue
359.0 feet to the point of intersection of the South line of
South Second Street, which point lies 60 feet South of the
Southeast corner of Lot 13, in Block 1 in Nash 's subdivision to

150 feet East of the Southwest corner of Lot 9, Block 1 of

substantially as indicated upon the blueprint plan attached
hereto and made a part hereof, and more specifically described

The foregoing right is granted upon the express
condition that the City of Ames will assume liability for all
damage to the hereinbefore described property caused by said
City 's failure to use due care in its exercise of the granted
