The City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, met on August 11, 2009, at seven O'clock
P m., at the City Hall , in the City. The Mayor presided and the roll was called
showing the following members of the City Council present and absent:
Present: Doll, Goodman, Larson, Maha)jni, Poj)ken, Ric
Absent: None
Council Member Mnhaynj introduced the resolution hereinafter
next set out and moved its adoption, seconded by Council Member Doll
and after due consideration thereof by the City Council, the Mayor put the question upon the
adoption of the resolution and the roll being called, the following named Council Members
voted:
Ayes: Doll, Goodman, Larson, Mahayni, Popken, Rice
Nays: None
Whereupon, the Mayor declared the resolution duly adopted as hereinafter set out.
At the conclusion of the meeting, and upon motion and vote, the City Council adjourned.

RESOLUTION NO. 09-363
Resolution to fix a date for a public hearing on issuing General Obligation Bonds
in a principal amount not to exceed $170,000
WHEREAS, the City of Ames (the "City"), in Story County, State of Iowa, proposes to
issue General Obligation Bonds in a principal amount not to exceed $170,000 (the "Bonds")
pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 384 of the Code of Iowa for the general corporate purpose
of paying the cost, to that extent, of constructing improvements to the municipal electric system
and municipal sanitary sewer system, and the City desires to institute proceedings to issue the
Bonds for such general corporate purpose by causing a notice of such proposal to be published,
including notice of the right to petition for an election, under the provisions of Section 384.26 of
the Code of Iowa;
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Resolved by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The City Council shall meet on the 25t" day of August, 2009, at the

hearing will be held and proceedings will be instituted and action taken to authorize the issuance
of the Bonds.
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice of the proposed hearing,
setting forth the amount and purpose thereof, the time when and place where the meeting will be
held, by publication at least once not less than 10 and not more than 20 days before the meeting,
in a legal newspaper which has a general circulation in the City. The notice shall be in
substantially the following form:

NOTICE OF PROPOSED ACTION TO INSTITUTE PROCEEDINGS TO
ISSUE GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS IN A PRINCIPAL AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED $170,000
(MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENTS)
The City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, will meet on the 25th clay of August, 2009,
at the - City Hall , Ames, Iowa, at seven o'clock _p in., for the purpose of
instituting proceedings and taking action to issue General Obligation Bonds (the "Bonds") in a
principal amount not to exceed $170,000 for the purpose of paying the cost, to that extent, of
constructing improvements to the municipal electric system and municipal sanitary sewer
system.
The Bonds are proposed to be issued pursuant to authority contained in Chapter 384 of
the Code of Iowa and will constitute a general obligation of the City.
The maximum rate of interest which may be payable on the Bonds is 7% per annum.
At any time before the date fixed for taking action to issue the Bonds, a petition may be
filed with the City Clerk of the City asking that the question of issuing the Bonds be submitted to
the registered voters of the City, pursuant to the provisions of Section 384.26 of the Code of
Iowa.
